Just a month ago, on June 12, a nondescript logistics centre in Changi was the site of a flurry of activity. Workers were rushing to vinyl-wrap and complete programming hundreds of vending machines to provide all Singapore residents with free MaskSafe kits, each containing two reusable DET30 antimicrobial masks.

All 1,200 vending machines have been rolled out islandwide to Community Clubs, Residents’ Committee Centres and bus interchanges. People can redeem their masks by scanning in their IC or any government-issued identification with a barcode.

The deadline to collect the free reusable masks is 11.59pm on July 12, 2020. Those looking to purchase extra masks may do so at StayMasked at $8 per mask kit.
Update: The mask collection deadline has been extended, from July 13 to 19, 2020. Collection at 20 bus interchanges and Plaza Singapura.
